Trump Endorses Political Outsider Kari Lake For Arizona Governor

Today 45th President Donald Trump endorsed Kari Lake, a former media personality who left her profession to enter politics, to become the Republican nominee for Governor of Arizona.

In his statement, President Donald Trump wrote that Kari Lake “is a fantastic person” and noted her work as a “highly respected” local television anchor. “Because of this, few can take on the Fake News Media like Kari,” wrote President Trump.

“She will do a far better job than RINO Governor Doug Ducey – won’t even be a contest!” President Trump added, “Kari Lake has my Complete and Total Endorsement. She will be a great Governor for the incredible people of Arizona!”

In a statement from Lake’s campaign, the candidate said she was “inspired by President Trump” during his time in office. “My commitment to the great people of this state is to always put Arizona First, just as he put America First.” The statement describes Lake as “a first time, outsider candidate” running “in similar fashion to Donald Trump’s campaign in 2016.”

“President Trump showed us that you don’t need to be a politician to become a governor, congressman, senator, even the President of the United States,” Lake added. “You need to have passion [and] love for your country [and] the people in your community.”

Lake has been a longtime supporter of President Trump and a supporter of the Arizona Audit. During the audit’s hearing, Lake tweeted in support of an investigation from Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich. Today Brnovich, who is running for U.S. Senate, appeared to take the first steps toward an official investigation by instructing Maricopa County to preserve materials from the 2020 election for his office to examine.
