America First: President Trump Endorses Sandy Smith for Congress in Battleground Race

Last Updated on September 25, 2022

President Trump has announced his endorsement of America First candidate Sandy Smith for Congress in North Carolina’s 1st District. Smith is running against Don Davis, the hand-picked successor of outgoing, longtime Democrat Rep. GK Butterfield. After pulling ahead in the polls, Smith looks poised to flip the seat from blue to red atop a groundswell of grassroots support, including that of Trump.

President Trump made his endorsement of Sandy Smith during his Friday night rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, where Smith was in attendance and was loudly cheered by the crowd, which numbered deep into the thousands and packed the Wilmington Airport.

“Sandy Smith from North Carolina’s 1st Congressional District, Sandy, you have my total endorsement,” President Trump said from the stage in Wilmington, announcing his endorsement of Smith.

“She’s gonna be terrific. Thanks, Sandy,” said the 45th President from the stage.

“Such a great honor to have the endorsement from the greatest president we have had in a LONG time,” Smith wrote in a tweet announcing the massive endorsement.

“Thank you so much, President Trump!” Smith went on. “We will take our country back.”

Now with the backing of President Trump’s coveted endorsement, Smith looks poised to flip North Carolina’s blue 1st District to red. In the November election, she faces Democrat Don Davis, a state legislator who has embraced a radical left-wing agenda to get the support of national Democrats.

Earlier this year, Davis announced his support of taxpayer-funded abortion on demand, up to the moment of birth. He also voted against protecting Americans from violent illegal alien criminals, throwing support for the California-style “sanctuary” justice practices that are taking root in North Carolina.

As the race counts down to November’s mid-term elections, Sandy Smith has moved into the winner’s column according to a number of polls and pattern studies on the race, including by the decision desk, which has long been considered an authority in election forecasts.

According to Decision Desk HQ, North Carolina’s 1st District now leans Republican, a seismic shift in the region’s politics that has been fueled by the America First movement and candidate Sandy Smith.
