Marcy Kaptur, GOP RINOs, Pushed Fake News in 2010 to Destroy a Tea Party Candidate. Now They’re Doing it Again

Ohio Democrat Marcy Kaptur, with her allies in corporate media and the GOP establishment, pushed a fake news story to destroy a Tea Paty candidate in 2010, using photos of him at a World War 2 re-enactment to launch brutal attacks against his character. Now, Kaptur and company are doing it all over again, peddling a fake news story accusing Air Force veteran and Trump-endorsed America First candidate JR Majewski of fabricating his Afghan War service.

20-term Democrat incumbent Rep. Marcy Kaptur (OH-9) is pushing a fake news story published by the AP accusing America First Republican nominee and war veteran JR Majewski of faking his military service in Afghanistan. The story, which was published by the AP on September 22nd, reported without proper evidence or verification that Majewski had “misrepresented” his Air Force service and had “never deployed to Afghanistan.”

The AP’s report was based on partial information received through a questionable records request. That information was held by the left-wing press outlet for nearly two months, and its release coincided with the mailing out of 2022’s military absentee ballots.

In the weeks immediately before the AP released their fake news story accusing Majewski of stolen valor, serious concerns about holding on to Kaptur’s seat were growing among Democrats and left-wing media was sounding the alarm that America’s “longest-serving congresswoman could lose” to her grassroots challenger.

After the AP’s baseless report, Kevin McCarthy and the NRCC pulled their support of Majewski, signaling that the GOP establishment is waving the white flag in the battleground 9th District, even as the very winnable race enters the home stretch.

McCarthy and the establishment’s turn against Majewski helps to back up speculation that the House GOP leader has entered into a power-sharing agreement with Nancy Pelosi and is scaling back Republican efforts to pick up seats in the districts of vulnerable establishment Democrats.

It’s also reminiscent of the establishment’s turn against Kaptur’s 2010 challenger, another election cycle in which GOP leadership was accused of pumping the brakes on congressional victories for Republicans.

In 2010, Marcy Kaptur, the GOP establishment, and the corporate press employed the same corrupt playbook they’re now using against JR Majewski to take down Tea Party-aligned candidate Rich Iott. A grocery business executive and more than 30-year member of Ohio’s military reserves, Iott was falsely accused of neo-Nazism and had his candidacy destroyed as a result.

Launching a brutal, false attack campaign against Iott while using photographs of him taking part in a World War 2 re-enactment to brand him a neo-Nazi, Kaptur was accused of working directly alongside corporate media to destroy Iott’s campaign with the fake news story.

Presenting the photographs completely out of context, Kaptur and the media claimed that Iott wasn’t dressing up as a German soldier as part of a historical re-enactment, but as part of his secret life as a white supremacist militant.

Much like they are today, in 2010, the GOP establishment came in on the side of Democrat Marcy Kaptur, saving her seat in Congress.

Former House GOP leader Eric Cantor joined Democrat Debbie Wasserman-Schultz on cable news at the time to “repudiate” Iott and call for an end to his campaign, publicly pulling support for the GOP nominee and destroying his candidacy on the national stage.

AP News Report Proven False – Afghan Veteran, Air Force Records Back Up Majewski War Service

National File has spoken first-hand with an Afghan War veteran who confirms that he was in the war zone with JR Majewski during Majewski’s 2002 deployment to the Middle East as the early phases of US ground operations in Afghanistan got underway. His service records confirm that he was in Afghanistan in 2002.

The serviceman tells National File that Majewski’s Air Force records have not been properly updated, an issue that plagues America’s veteran community and has caused some to lose out on important benefits until their situation is straightened out.

Considering Majewski himself faced death threats following Kaptur and the AP’s false attacks on his military service, his fellow Afghan vet spoke with National File on the condition of anonymity.

He confirms that he personally served on missions in Afghanistan with Majewski “a handful of times.”

The veteran explained that Majewski was part of a mobile unit in the Air Force that flew critical missions out of Qatar and into Afghanistan, putting his own boots on the ground and helping to supply American forces with the cargo and supplies needed to construct forward operating posts in-country.

“We would drop in when like 300 Marines were on the ground, they would secure it and airfields would be secured and then we’d set up base,” Majewski’s fellow veteran says. “Then we’d build from scratch. That’s how forward operating posts happen. That’s how bases start.”

National File has examined the unnamed combat veteran’s discharge papers first-hand and can confirm that he was awarded multiple decorations for his service in Afghanistan, and is a highly-decorated veteran of the US armed forces.

Additional records pertaining to JR Majewski’s service in Afghanistan examined by National File confirm that he was issued Imminent Danger Pay in 2002, reflecting his time in the Afghan combat zone.
