In his State of the Union address on Tuesday night, White House occupant Joe Biden shifted from condemning “MAGA extremists” to putting forward his own “Buy American” MAGA agenda.
Biden said he’s ordering all future federal infrastructure projects “to be made in America.”
“Buy American has been the law of the land since 1933,” Biden said. “But for too long, past administrations have found ways to get around it.”
“Not anymore,” he continued. “Tonight, I’m also announcing new standards to require all construction materials used in federal infrastructure projects to be made in America. American-made lumber, glass, drywall, fiber optic cables. And on my watch, American roads, American bridges, and American highways will be made with American products.”
“My economic plan is about investing in places and people that have been forgotten,” Biden said, channelling Trump’s MAGA messaging. “Amid the economic upheaval of the past four decades, too many people have been left behind or treated like they’re invisible … we’re building an economy where no one is left behind.”
“Jobs are coming back, pride is coming back, because of the choices we made in the last two years. This is a blue-collar blueprint to rebuild America and make a real difference in your lives,” he said.
Biden’s handlers claimed before he took office that they were going to try to depoliticize the presidency and get people to tune out of politics and they appear to be succeeding.
Whereas Biden’s “Dark Brandon” speech framing his MAGA opponents as domestic terrorists in September triggered widespread outrage, this SOTU speech triggered mostly yawns.
Biden focused on “America First” issues everyone can agree on for the first half and didn’t even touch on “woke” issues like LGTBism and abortion until the second half. Somewhat endearingly, he botched the “LGBTQ” acronym and had to correct himself.
“Let’s also pass the bipartisan Equality Act to ensure LG– LGBTQ Americans, especially transgender young people, can live with safety and dignity,” Biden said in the only line of his speech advancing the Gay Agenda.
Biden’s moderate tone made Balloon Nationalist Marjorie Taylor Greene come across as classless when she screamed at him while wearing a gaudy all white outfit.
GOP House Speaker Kevin McCarthy told Republicans not to do any outbursts during Biden’s speech and was seen “shushing” Greene and other GOP reps for interrupting.
The war posture taken by Trump doesn’t work very well when the leader of the GOP — whom Greene gave her full support — is essentially a “deradicalizer” working together with Biden to return Washington to business as usual.
Whereas Republicans spent the last week calling for war with China over what appears to be a weather balloon, Biden advocated for de-escalation:
BIDEN: Before I came to office, the story was about how the People’s Republic of China was increasing its power and America was falling in the world.
Not anymore.
I’ve made clear with President Xi that we seek competition, not conflict.
I will make no apologies that we are investing to make America strong. Investing in American innovation, in industries that will define the future, and that China’s government is intent on dominating.
Investing in our alliances and working with our allies to protect our advanced technologies so they’re not used against us.
Modernizing our military to safeguard stability and deter aggression.
Today, we’re in the strongest position in decades to compete with China or anyone else in the world.
I am committed to work with China where it can advance American interests and benefit the world.
But make no mistake: as we made clear last week, if China’s threatens our sovereignty, we will act to protect our country. And we did.
And let’s be clear: winning the competition with China should unite all of us. We face serious challenges across the world.
Of course, that’s all lies — the Biden regime is surrounding China with additional military bases as we speak and pushed the whole “weaponized spy balloon” just to generate anti-Chinese sentiment — but there’s a hint of truth to it in the sense that Biden’s handlers have said the US needs to accept China’s rising superpower status and learn to compete.
The CHIPS act was passed to address this.
Though it’s not likely to go anywhere, Biden called for an “assault weapons” ban in response to a Chinese immigrant using a “semi-automatic pistol” to go on a mass shooting in Monterey Park last month.
He also called for a mass amnesty for millions of illegal aliens.
Biden spent a decent amount of time attacking Putin and reaffirming his commitment to Ukraine.
“Inflation has been a global problem because of the pandemic that disrupted supply chains and Putin’s war that disrupted energy and food supplies,” Biden claimed.
He went on to compare Putin to Hitler and pledged that the US will support Ukraine for “as long as it takes”:
BIDEN: I spoke from this chamber one year ago, just days after Vladimir Putin unleashed his brutal war against Ukraine.
A murderous assault, evoking images of the death and destruction Europe suffered in World War II.
Putin’s invasion has been a test for the ages. A test for America. A test for the world.
Would we stand for the most basic of principles?
Would we stand for sovereignty?
Would we stand for the right of people to live free from tyranny?
Would we stand for the defense of democracy?
For such a defense matters to us because it keeps the peace and prevents open season for would-be aggressors to threaten our security and prosperity. One year later, we know the answer.
[…] Tonight, we are once again joined by Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States. She represents not just her nation, but the courage of her people.
Ambassador, America is united in our support for your country. We will stand with you as long as it takes.
It’s too bad America can’t be a sovereign nation “free from tyranny” with a government that acts in the interests of its own people!
We have a diabolical deep state and controlled media who spent four years during Trump’s presidency undermining him on every level, manufacturing fake terror plots and conducting psychological terrorism on the public to keep the masses in a chronic state of unease.
With Biden in the White House and our ruling oligarchs once again in full control, calculated steps are being taken to put the masses back to sleep and neuter any right-wing opposition.
That said, Trump appears to be finally getting his act together and is capitalizing on a tremendous opportunity to run against the Biden regime’s proxy war with Russia in Ukraine.
“If I were president, the Russia Ukraine war would never have happened … never in a million years,” Trump said in a campaign video released last week. “But even now, if I were president, I’d be able to negotiate an end to this horrible and rapidly escalating war within 24 hours.”
“The situation in Ukraine is very dangerous, explosive and escalating by the day,” Trump said. “Joe Biden’s weakness and incompetence has brought us to the brink of nuclear war. And now Biden is doing what he said 10 months ago would lead to World War Three. He is sending in American tanks. It’s far past the time for all parties involved to pursue a peaceful end to the war in Ukraine before this already horrific catastrophe spirals out of control and ends up leading indeed to World War Three.”
“And this would be a war like no other war because this would be a nuclear war,” Trump continued. “First comes the tanks and then come the nukes. Get this crazy war ended now. It can be done and in fact, it’s easy to get done.”
Whether Trump can get back on his feet and mount a serious campaign in the face of tremendous opposition still remains to be seen.
If he runs as a Balloon Nationalist and whines incessantly about China while echoing Fox News and GOP talking points his campaign will go down in flames.
If he goes to war with our ruling elites he’ll stand a fighting chance.
