‘You are a Nasty Person’: President Trump Puts CNN’s Kaitlan Collins in Her Place

Last Updated on May 11, 2023

President Trump told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins that she is “a nasty person” as she badgered and interrupted him during Wednesday night’s CNN New Hampshire town hall.

The jab from President Trump came as CNN host Kaitlan Collins refused to let him answer her own question regarding de-classified documents that were stored at Mar-a-Lago and that became the catalyst for a politicized DOJ raid that saw FBI agents descend on President Trump’s Florida residence with CNN camera crews in tow.

“Why did you take those documents with you when you left the White House?” Collins asked Trump.

“I had every right to under the Presidential Records Act,” Trump replied.

“I took what I took and it gets de-classified,” he explained. “Biden on the other hand, he has 1,850 boxes, he had boxes sent to China Town – China Town – where they don’t even speak English.”

“You know who else took them?” Trump added moments later. “Obama took them, Nixon took them, Reagan took them,” he went on, with Collins interrupting to claim that “Obama didn’t take documents,” despite the fact that 30 million documents de-classified by Obama reside at the Obama Presidential Library in Chicago.

From there, President Trump’s attempt to answer Collins’ question descended into a back and forth in which she flat-out refused to let President Trump provide an answer and behaved as if she was on stage to debate Trump on behalf of the DNC, not to facilitate a town hall with questions from an audience.

As was expected by many prior to the town hall, throughout President Trump’s attempt to answer the question, Collins defended Biden at every turn.

“Are you ready? Can I talk?” Trump eventually asked.

“Yeah, what’s the answer?” Collins replied, speaking over him.

“Do you mind?” Trump asked her.

“I would like for you to answer the question,” Collins interjected. “That’s why I asked it.”

“You are a nasty person, I tell ya,” Trump told her, prompting the audience to burst into applause.
