Video: Elite US Women’s Soccer Team Crushed by Team Full of Retired Men

Last Updated on June 5, 2023

An elite US women’s soccer team participating in a global soccer tournament was absolutely crushed by a team full of retired male players, with the scoreboard reading 7-0 after just 20 minutes of play, and 12-0 when the 40-minute-long match was all said and done.

Both teams were taking part in a global 7v7 soccer tournament aptly named “The Soccer Tournament” and held in North Carolina. The Soccer Tournament boasted a $1 million grand prize to be doled out to the contest’s winning team and squads were staffed by current players as well as those past, who’d been considered national and global elites during the prime of their careers.

The women’s team represented the United States and featured what The Mirror describes as “several former US Women’s National Team internationals”. The team was coached by US women’s soccer legend Mia Hamm.

The men’s team represented Wrexham AFC, a Welsh professional team now owned in large part by actor Ryan Reynolds and while it featured older, retired players, it also featured at least one active professional Wrexham player, again as reported by The Mirror, a British publication.

In video footage of the game that’s gone viral online, the men’s team is seen scoring at will against the women’s team, all the way up until the very end, when a goal was scored easily after a steal in the game’s final seconds.

“Game over,” an announcer says. “12 [to] nothing, Wrexham defeats the US women.”

Watch the game’s highlights below:

The elite women’s team’s defeat in The Soccer Tournament has brought up comparisons to 2017 when a U-15 boys’ team defeated the US Women’s National Team 5 to 2, and has sparked widespread conversation on social media regarding men in women’s sports.

In the aftermath of this defeat, several news outlets and social media personalities have falsely attributed the women’s loss to the US Women’s National Team. While the team was made up of elite female players and some past US Women’s National Team members, it was not in fact the actual National Team.

Despite the mix-up, the fact remains that those on the pro-LGBT left are engaged in a relentless campaign to bully ordinary people into allowing men who proclaim womanhood to compete against women in athletic competitions of all varieties, including soccer.

Now, those on the other side of the issue will have an entirely new event to point to when showcasing how massive of a disadvantage such a scenario creates for real women.
