Attorney John Pierce appeared on Monday’s edition of the “Tucker Carlson Tonight” television program to lay out the “100% self defense” case for client Kyle Rittenhouse, who has been charged with first degree homicide despite overwhelming video evidence indicating he acted in self defense during last week’s Kenosha shootings.
Pierce revealed that Rittenhouse, 17, traveled to Kenosha after receiving a phone call from a business owner who had lost two out of three properties to arson and looting and was fearful that his last business would be next.
Rittenhouse took his first aid kit and a rifle with him because Kenosha had become a “warzone” after the Black Lives Matter riots, Pierce explained.
Pierce also contested the charge that Rittenhouse illegally crossed state lines with a firearm: “That firearm never crossed state lines, that is a legal firearm in the state of Wisconsin. Wisconsin is an open carry state, that charge is incorrect as a matter of state law, as a 17-year-old he was legally entitled to that firearm in his possession.”
The lawyer also stated that first protester to be shot, convicted sex offender Joseph Rosenbaum, attacked Rittenhouse from behind and tried to take his weapon, forcing the teen to act in self defense. The New York Times report that found Rittenhouse did not fire the first shot was also cited.”
“In this warzone, in this chaos that was occurring in the middle of Wisconsin, the only individuals that Kyle shot were the three individuals that were putting him at risk of serious bodily harm or death. This is a 17-year-old kid, this is amazing,” Pierce said.
The fact that none of the rioters who attacked Rittenhouse have been charged with aggravated assault was also noted in the interview.

President Donald Trump refuted a journalist who demanded he “disavow” Rittenhouse Monday, stating, “He was trying to get away from them, and he tripped and he fell… they very violently attacked him … I guess he was in very big trouble, he probably would have been killed.”
