Biden to Pull Meal Funding From Schools Not Compliant With Pro-Trans Policies

The Biden Administration has announced that it will pull meal funding from schools not compliant with its radical pro-trans policies and far-left views on the “sexual orientations and gender identities” of children, throwing the food security of poor and needy kids across the country into serious doubt.

Under a May directive from the Biden Administration’s US Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service, federal funding that goes to help provide meals to K-12 kids at school will be pulled from districts at odds with the radical left-wing values surrounding sexual orientation and gender identity embraced by the Biden Administration. Despite the immediate and drastic impact the move could have on children experiencing food insecurity and who are enrolled in free and reduced-price school meal programs, the Biden Administration is justifying the move under a Biden executive order opening girls restrooms and locker rooms up to men and forcing schools to adopt pro-trans sporting and pronoun policies.

In many districts around the country, federal dollars are much-needed to fund the full extent of their subsidized meal programs. For some kids living in extreme poverty, it’s the only food they eat all day. During the summer, some school districts use the federal funds to deliver meals to kids enrolled in free lunch programs, ensuring they have a reliable source of food year round.

Nevertheless, those in violation, says the Biden Administration’s USDA, will have their meal money withheld, effectively starving vulnerable children to force state and local officials into submission.

“USDA is committed to administering all its programs with equity and fairness, and serving those in need with the highest dignity,” Biden Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said in a USDA announcement, laying out the plan that some are calling a federal shake-down operation. “A key step in advancing these principles is rooting out discrimination in any form – including discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.”

Elected officials in states poised to be affected by Biden’s action on school lunches have begun publicly pushing back against the plans, with South Dakota Governor Kristie Noem promising to “file suit to protect our kids” should Biden’s plans come to fruition.

“If you act on this, Joe, we’ll see you in court and we will win,” Noem said in a Tweet blasting Biden’s plans to “take food off of our kids’ plates.”

The Biden Administration has been openly hostile to politicians, parents, and others pushing back against the far-left agendas being implemented in schools, increasingly using the power of the state to crush the opposition. Biden’s Department of Justice has even directed the FBI to target parents who show up to school board meetings to take an active role in the education of their own kids.
