Video: MSNBC Anchor Wonders if She’s ‘Doing More Harm Than Good’ After Learning Americans Hate the Media

MSNBC anchor Katy Tur pondered during a recent newscast with The Hill if her left-wing reporting is doing more harm than good after reading the results of a Gallup poll showing that a record low number of Americans say they trust the corporate media.

Speaking to the lack of trust that Americans have in traditional corporate media sources, like newspaper publications and cable news networks, Katy Tur wondered if the job she and her media colleagues are doing is even effective, and admitted that the American people “don’t believe us.”

“There was just a Gallup poll out today that shows that the trust in media – newspapers and television – is hitting an all-time low,” Tur said.

“People don’t trust us, they don’t believe us, and it makes me wonder if this job as I’m currently doing it is effective,” Tur went on to say, before pondering if she and the rest of the media are  “doing more harm than good.”

“I don’t have a good answer for that,” she explained.

According to the results of the Gallup poll that Tur cited during her interview with The Hill, a mere 16% of Americans report having a “great deal/quite a lot of confidence in newspapers,” while 11% report feeling the same way about television news. The data was released in July.

Though media approval is low across the board, perhaps unsurprisingly, Democrat poll respondents expressed more approval and confidence in the media than Republicans did.

Prior to Katy Tur’s sudden development of self-awareness, she rose to mainstream media prominence in 2016 when she covered the Trump campaign on behalf of MSNBC, a central player in the “fake news” media market that is among the networks most despised by the American people. She marks at least the second generation of her family to work in corporate media, with both of her parents having been in TV journalism.

Tur’s father, Robert “Zoey” Tur, is a former CBS news anchor who proclaimed womanhood in 2013, announcing himself as transgender. Tur began hormone therapy and underwent a number of cosmetic surgeries following his announcement.

In one famous viral video, Tur became unhinged when conservative commentator and Daily Wire publisher Ben Shapiro referred to him as “sir,” while the two took part in a televised forum on transgenderism and the media’s celebration of Bruce “Caitlyn” Jenner’s “transition”.

Tur grabbed the back of Shapiro’s neck before lowering his voice and threatening to send Shapiro “home in an ambulance,” all while insisting that he is indeed a woman and that Ben Shapiro knew nothing about “genetics.”
