An unjabbed Ukrainian teenager who was refused a kidney transplant by Duke University’s medical system over her COVID vaccination status has finally received her new kidney and is expected to make a full recovery.
Yulia, a Ukrainian orphan who was adopted by Chrissy and Lee Hicks, two North Carolina US Army veterans, suffers from a genetic kidney disorder and was in desperate need of a new kidney to save her life and keep her off of dialysis. Last year, Duke University’s medical system REFUSED to give the young girl a kidney transplant, which constitutes life-saving medical care, because she was unvaccinated against COVID-19.
Duke’s refusal to treat the young girl forced the Hicks family to seek treatment elsewhere, and further absorb the massive medical and travel costs associated with seeking a kidney transplant.
Thanks to an outpouring of support, a GiveSendGo account raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to help Yulia get the medical treatment she deserved and an update posted this morning on the GiveSendGo page reveals that the young girl has finally received her new kidney, and is on the way to a full recovery.
The procedure was performed at East Carolina University’s medical center, and Yulia is still unjabbed, despite Duke’s best efforts to force her to take the jab to continue living.
“Yulia has a new kidney!” an update to the GiveSendGo page, posted on the morning of May 26th by Yulia’s adoptive parents reads.
“Yulia got her new kidney last night. She had an amazing live donor. His initials are JJ. Please pray for his recovery. He is a hero. Yulia is recovering very well,” the update explains.
The update goes on to thank the multiple media outlets who profiled Yulia’s story and Duke’s refusal to operate on her because of her COVID jab status, including National File, as this publication broke the story in the media late last year, prompting further coverage from the likes of Stew Peters, Tucker Carlson, and more.
“We are now focusing our attention on Yulia’s healing, getting Yulia’s law passed, and the lawsuit with Duke,” the update goes on.
“Yulia’s law (NC586) has passed the NC House overwhelmingly. It is sitting in the Senate and in danger of not getting passed. Please call the NC legislature asking them to pass this law.”
“We are also still raising money for legal fees for our lawsuit against Duke. What they did to our daughter was unconscionable.”
“Again thank you all for the love, support, and prayers. To God be the glory.”
