Israeli Gov Official Says Nuking Gaza is ‘An Option’

Last Updated on November 6, 2023

Israeli Heritage Minister Amihai Eliyahu called for nuking the densely populated Gaza Strip, something that would surely annihilate an astonishing number of children and other civilians, who Eliyahu also wants to block from receiving humanitarian aid. Presumably, the Israeli nuking of the Gaza Strip would also result in the deaths of remaining Israeli hostages, whom Hamas has held since the ongoing conflict began on October 7th.

Israeli Heritage Minister Amihai Eliyahu has reportedly been partially suspended from his governmental duties after saying during a radio interview that nuking the Gaza Strip is an “option” that the Israeli government is considering. Interestingly enough, Eliyahu’s remarks came despite Israel’s official policy of not actually revealing if it possesses nuclear weapons or not, though it is widely presumed that the nation does.

In addition to calling for nuclear weapons to be used in Gaza, Eliyahu called for all humanitarian aid into the region to be blocked, telling his interviewer that “there are no non-combatants in Gaza” (apparently even children), and that allowing Palestinians to receive any form of humanitarian aid would be “a failure” on behalf of the Israelis.

In response to Eliyahu’s call to nuke the Gaza strip, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a public statement via X, writing that Eliyahu’s “statements are not based in reality” and that “Israel and the IDF are operating in accordance with the highest standards of international law to avoid harming innocents.”

Netanyahu Israel NukesEliyahu’s remarks come as Israel faces increased and largely unprecedented scrutiny in the United States and elsewhere over what many describe as an indiscriminate military campaign.

In a matter of just a few short weeks, thousands of Palestinian civilians, including upwards of 3,000 children, have been killed in Gaza and that number is expected to rise dramatically as the conflict threatens to expand and as the Israeli military launches ground operations against Hamas terrorists.

As the conflict drags on and the scrutiny continues, the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has taken to calling for the censorship of Americans who aren’t supportive of Israel’s war effort.
