Gov. Newsom Admits ‘It’s True’ San Francisco Only Cleared Out Homeless To Cater To Foreign Elites

Radical Democrats had the capability all along to enforce law and order but chose not to only until world leaders and corporate execs showed up to a summit.

California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) admitted San Francisco only decided to clear out the horde of homeless people from its streets to cater to the elites arriving for an incoming trade summit.

San Francisco, which has long been tarnished with shit-covered streets, homelessness, and open-air drug markets, suddenly was able to clear out the homeless in a matter of days for the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which is expecting high-profile attendees like China’s dictator Xi Jinping.

Progressive leaders in the city were criticized for not being able to do the same thing for its citizens in the months and years prior, a fact Newsom ridiculed on Monday.

“Folks say, ‘oh, they’re just cleaning up this place because all those fancy leaders are coming into town,’” Gavin snarked. “Um, that’s true, because it’s true.”

“But it’s also true for months and months and months prior to APEC, we’ve been having different conversations,” he added.

San Francisco was able to clear out the homeless at a remarkable pace ahead of the summit, showing that the political will is there to do so — but only to appease the elite for a short-lived event.

“They started clearing the tents earlier this week and there is definitely a lot more police presence,” San Francisco resident and community activist Ricci Lee Wynne said.

They’ve cleared out the tents that were near the Moscone Center on Howard Street, which tells me the city had the capability to do this all along — instead they just do the bare minimum.”

“Once APEC is gone, police presence will start to simmer down again, the tents will return. And it will slowly flare up again. What we need is a permanent solution,” Wynne added.

But Newsom would rather mock complaining citizens or fly to China to meet his master Xi rather than lead an initiative to solve the state’s homeless crisis.
